Assumption Fifth Graders Celebrate D.A.R.E Graduation
D.A.R.E to resist drugs and violence—that’s what the fifth-grade students at Assumption School pledged to do during the spring 2023 D.A.R.E graduation ceremony with O'Fallon Missouri Police Officer Bryan Shepard. Congratulations to all our fifth-grade students for pledging to make good choices—everyone is so very proud of you!
Several students received honorable mentions during the event that took place Thursday evening, May 4, in the Parish Center, located beneath the Church. Lainey Willis and Callie Greco were recognized for being fearless leaders and were presented with a D.A.R.E Lion. Mason Ballard and Garrett Olsen also were recognized for writing the top essays in their class and were both invited to read their winning essay at an upcoming City of O'Fallon Council meeting.
A special thanks to Assumption Principal Dr. Patricia Hensley, Assumption Pastor Father Nick Kastenholz, Assumption Teachers Haley McHugh and Holly Woytus, O’Fallon Mayor Bill Hennessy, O’Fallon Police Chief Frank Mininni, O’Fallon Councilwoman Lisa Thompson, and all the family members who help celebrate our student’s accomplishments.
